ABOUT THE GAME

PIG is a mix of a card game and a board game that takes players right into the center of a fierce fight between humanity and alien invaders. It’s a game for 2 or 4 players, each with their own, built deck. The number of cards available in the game allows for endless possibilities to build one’s deck, and freedom in creating your deck makes each game different and unique. There are 5 factions to choose from (left, right, authoritarian, liberal and neutral), and they can be merged to create powerful, strategic and crazy combinations. The game is filled with all that’s grotesque in the modern world, from famous people and events, through pop culture and internet memes, all the way to crazy conspiracy theories and interdimensional voyages. All of this seasoned with a huge dose of humor and politically incorrect gags. Gameplay basically relies on placing cards on a board, where players move their fighting units to gain control and influence. Aside from units, players can also use buildings, upgrades, events and counter cards to increase their chances to win. Each player has a specific number of life points, and their goal is to bring their opponent’s life down to 0.

STORY

Earth (dimension 2K-GXK-L0IQKJ) year 2022

Planet Earth is ruled by people, but these are only appearances. Politicians and bankers sold their souls for influence and wealth to exercise authority on behalf of interstellar lizards. Manipulated and divided, humanity lives under the thumb of tyranny, forced to perform slave labor for greedy, evil corporations. These are dark times, with freedom of speech long forgotten. In this time of sorrow, one desperate man with a whole lotta love for good conspiracy theories decided to put his life on the line and kill the invaders. One of the highest-ranked reptiles dies. Unfortunately, it also seals the fate of humanity. Reptilians decide that the time to slay all humans is at hand. A giant mothership arrives and begins vaporizing cities, one after another. It seems the days of men are coming to an end. But, in the far away land… The supreme leader of both Koreas – the last defender of free humanity – Kim Jong-un, decides to make one last stand against the usurpers. He launches semi modern, long-range rockets, aimed at the mothership of those sons of lizard bitches. Sadly, his engineers made some miscalculations. Nukes went flying somewhere else. Meanwhile, in Geneva, the Large Hadron Collider, severely hit by Kim’s mistargeted nukes, explodes and morphs into a black hole, opening an interdimensional time portal! From the portal arrive beings with abilities and powers unknown to our universe. Their worlds are already destroyed, but they will fight in defense of this one. The last great war begins…

FACTIONS

Authoritarian

Tyrants, dictators and their blinded followers who will do anything to execute their master’s will and seize absolute power. Their forces consist of deadly units, skilled in both melee and ranged combat. Assassination and decimation are their bread and butter. Truly evil creatures.

Left

Caring and big-hearted, they always stand up for the little guy. They are commonly known for their love of sharing, and the tendency to fight fascism with hammer and sickle. They offer game-changing cards that empower one another. In unity they stand strong.

Neutral

They have no political association. Free spirits, sold out enough to join any other faction. They depend on units and events that can bring tremendous value to all decks with different tactics and mad combinations.

Right

They love their freedom and their guns. Also, they defend their beliefs with great conviction. They bet on strong units, popularity gains and economics. Among them there are also men of faith with supernatural abilities and even more supernatural artifacts.

Libertarian

Leaders, citizens and activists, infiltrated by sneaky aliens in disguise. They despise authoritarians with their hate speech, and rely on snowflake millennials and social justice warriors to thwart enemy plans. Be aware of their unpredictable counters! Peace, Love and 4/20

GAMEPLAY

Creating a deck was a piece of cake, now comes the hard part. You skills and brain synapses will be tested in the epic battle. Start by drawing 5 cards from your deck. At this point you can replace as many as you like (low-cost cards are very preferable at the beginning – seriously!) At the beginning of each turn you draw one additional card from your deck. Your maximum hand size is 8, so if you have more than that at the end of the turn, just discard the excess. Gameplay, in a nutshell, relies on placing those cards on the game board, where players move their units and fight with opponents to gain control and influence on the board. Aside from unit cards, players can also place buildings, cast upgrades and artifacts on units, or play event and counter cards to increase their chances to win. Each player has 10 life points and your goal is to bring your opponent’s life down to 0. Be vigilant – if your deck runs out of cards, you lose instantly. Good luck and remember: don’t hate the player, hate the game.

CARD TYPES

Units

They are the core of your forces (no shit, Sherlock). Only they can move across the board and attack the opponent from up close. Remember to have enough of them in your deck, otherwise you’re gonna play a deadly game. Deadly for you.

Events

Cards that perform countless actions and are playable during your turn. They can change the outcome of any battle and situation. Trust us, they can wreck your opponent instantly. In other games they are often referred to as spells.

Buildings

These structures cannot be relocated once they’re placed on a board. They have multiple functions, from buffing your units, through enhancing your draw ability, all the way to annoying the shit out of your opponent in many ways.

Counters

The only cards that can be played during your opponent’s turn, using leftover popularity from your last turn. They are known to be a royal pain in the ass, so spend your popularity wisely if you wanna deal with your opponent’s devious actions.

Upgrades

You can upgrade your units to buff them or attach them on your opponent’s units to show what hell on Earth looks like. They can be stacked and combined on one unit so even a Virgin Grey can be transformed into an epic Reptilian Chad.

Artifacts

A specific type of upgrade. Each faction has one, all-powerful artifact set. If you manage to get them all, you will unlock synergies between cards and unleash unlimited power!

DECK BUILDING

To kick your opponent’s ass, you have to begin by building a deck of 40 cards. It can contain a varying number of units, buildings, events, counters or upgrades, but not so fast – you can only have 2 copies of any regular card and only one copy of each unique card in your deck. There are five available factions in the game, each represented by a different color. You can only mix two adjacent colors on the faction scale with the addition of neutral cards (white ones). For example, you can build a blue and black deck with white cards but you can’t add red and yellow cards to it. So remember, politically incorrect newbie: you cannot mix opposite colors on the faction scale in your deck.
